Cernik Family

Eau Claire, Wisconsin - July 2025

A few years ago, the Cernik family moved to Eau Claire for better schools and to put down roots, but their dream home quickly turned into a nightmare when renovations uncovered major structural issues. Just as they began repairs, Joseph, the father, suffered a diabetic stroke that left him unable to work or care for himself. Soon after, a severe storm destroyed their remodeling materials and further damaged their property, leaving the home unsafe and uninsurable.

Today, this family of six is living in cramped conditions, with shared bedrooms and even a makeshift garage room for their oldest child. Through it all, they’ve remained strong and determined to keep moving forward.

We’ve chosen to support the Cernik family by covering 6 months of their mortgage payments, giving them some breathing room to focus on rebuilding their home and caring for their family. Our hope is that with a little support, they can regain stability and continue building the life they dreamed of when they moved here.
