Burgoyne Family
Weston, Wisconsin - December 2020
In May of 2019, the Burgoyne family’s lives were turned upside down in an instant when Brian Burgoyne was diagnosed with MS. To make things worse, they ended up in a battle with their insurance company forcing Brian to stop recommended treatments. Brian’s health continued to rapidly decline, so working was impossible. His wife of 26 years, Angie, was also not able to work due to Brian’s need for constant care. With no income, the bills started piling up. Brian and Angie made the tough decision to sell their family-owned business, which they had operated for over 20 years, so they could pay their bills. Then COVID-19 hit and any glimmer of hope they had to sell the business quickly faded. Brian and Angie’s two daughters, who are full-time college students, and Angie’s retired parents jumped in to help, but their limited incomes could only do so much. Angie and Brian were always the givers and never the takers, but their dire situation and the thought of losing their family home led Angie to reach out for help.
“Angie and Brian fight every day to keep their family going. Even those who serve their families and communities need a hand-up sometimes. We’re proud to be able to assist Angie in this way.”
